The Truth Behind Seed Oils And Bones

Has vegetable oil always been a staple pantry item in your home?

Or maybe you’ve heard the facts and decided to move towards a “healthier” seed oil?

Well, I’ve got some news that will affect your grocery list and help you live a long, healthy life.

Vegetable oils have a misleading name. They don’t even contain vegetables! Instead, these oils are made of hydrogenated grains and beans. In other words, they are made from seeds.

Unfortunately, including these seed oils in your diet can negatively affect your overall health – including your bones. If you’ve been following along, you know that building stronger bones is key to aging gracefully into a long, active life.

After my Osteopenia diagnosis years ago, I dug into the research. It was then that I learned the truth behind hydrogenated oils. That was when I made the switch to only eating saturated fats and non-hydrogenated oils. And I even came up with my own (amazing) mayonnaise recipe that I’ve been using and loving for years. I’m excited to share it with you to incorporate into your diet!

The Truth Behind Seed Oils And Bones

Do you remember the tobacco ads from the 1950s? Or maybe you’ve read about dangerous habits being promoted by doctors back in the day. It’s an eye-opening blast from the past.

In the same tune, many of the foods we grew up hearing are healthy are not actually good for us.

So what gives?

Well, companies with big marketing budgets have been getting away with false advertising for years.

Like most foods incorrectly promoted as healthy, there is a money-making campaign backing the claims. Take Crisco, for instance. It’s obviously not a great part of anyone’s diet. So why did the American Heart Association promote its use for so many years?

Look Past The Labels To Understand What You’re Really Putting Into Your Body

An unfortunate but not surprising fact is that when organizations need money, they are likely to back a donating brand. It’s important for your well-being to not trust statements at face value. Looking at the labels and understanding the FDA loopholes companies use to promote foods as healthy, non-toxic, natural, and organic can be confusing.

One thing we know for sure is that items marked as natural, organic, healthy, etc. are not always what they claim. Lucky for you, I’ve been down this rabbit hole and am going to save you time by sharing my years of experience and knowledge.

Are you wondering why I am so eager to share this valuable information with you? That’s understandable and also quite simple.

I’ve dedicated my life to the healing professions. And ever since my own unfortunate bone health diagnosis, I have made it my mission to help women become healthier and stronger. Not only do I want you to feel good, I want to help you age gracefully, play with your grandkids, and lead an overall active life well into old age.

Of course, to reach this level of well-being, you need strong bones and must take diet into consideration. Even foods we thought were healthy bone builders are not. Carbohydrates contain more bone deteriorating sugar than most people are aware. But that’s why I’m here, to help you quickly learn the steps you need to take to build stronger bones for overall wellness.

There’s More Hiding In Your Seed Oils Than You May Realize

Seed oils, such as canola and vegetable oil, became increasingly popular starting in 1979. Virtually all processed foods contain seed oils in some form. As these began to take up space in U.S. pantries, an obesity and chronic disease epidemic followed.

It’s not a coincidence. These oils in question are not natural. If you think about the process of extracting olive or coconut oil, it’s pretty straightforward because those oils are naturally occurring. However, when you think about soybean or grapeseed derived oil, how does that even work?

These unnatural oils are created through a rigorous chemical process. As they would not be shelf stable on their own, heat and other catalysts are used to hydrogenate the unsaturated material to liquefy it into oil form.

To make it easy, take a screenshot to remember which oils to avoid:

  • Corn oil
  • Canola oil
  • Soy oil
  • Rice bran oil
  • Grapeseed oil
  • Cottonseed
  • Safflower
  • Sunflower

Seed Oils Are Negatively Affecting Your Immune System

To understand which foods are good for our bodies, we need to understand our bodies. All of the cells that make up our bodies are made of cholesterol or fat.

When you consume these unnatural oils, your cell membranes are weakened, and this damages the mitochondria (the powerhouse of the cell). Oxidation, which is like rust on your tissues, then increases inflammation.

Furthermore, this inflammation provokes an insulin response similar to sugar. The lasting negative effects of this can include autoimmune conditions, quicker aging, and chronic illnesses like osteoporosis, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, cancer, and more.

Imagine eating a food that you know will weaken your bones, immune system, and cause inflammation? No, thank you!

Cook With The Right Oils For Delicious Meals That Are Truly Healthy

However, there is good news! Plenty of natural animal based options are available to use instead of the hateful eight oils.

Screenshot this for a guide of what to use when cooking:

  • Ghee (clarified butter)
  • Lard (from pork)
  • Tallow (from beef)
  • Suet (from lamb)
  • Duck Fat
  • Coconut Oil (high smoking point)
  • Avocado Oil (high smoking point)
  • Olive Oil (low smoking point)

Additionally, I love to use my homemade mayonnaise. To start, I boil water, get out my trusty immersion blender, and a wide mouth jar that’s large enough for the blender blade to fit.
